    Social Media Manager

    As our Social Media Manager you are responsible for strategy development, implementation, distribution and reporting, for Filson’s social media channels. The job is a healthy mix of strategy, publishing, advertising, creativity and community management. A successful candidate has strong experience with paid and organic approaches to social media programs and can balance growing engagement through dynamic content while also driving traffic and conversion. This role will help position Filson as a leader in the industry by partnering with a best-in-class creative and content team to create a dynamic channel that engages people at every stage of the customer lifecycle

    Key priorities for this position are the distribution and promotion of the Filson brand, our products and event/experiences - while driving acquisition of new customers, and the retention of existing Filson loyalists. This role will proactively define and deliver social media strategy, business plans and outcomes and collaborates with cross divisional departments to apply social insights to the broader business


    Content Distribution

    • Develops holistic social media strategy (publishing, creative, community management, paid, organic), and leads the execution of it with a relentless desire for improvement
    • Create, implement and actively manage a social editorial calendar to manage content and marketing campaigns
    • Design, create and manage promotions and Social ad campaigns.
    • Report on key metrics (i.e. engagement, clicks, ROAS, etc.)
    • Identify and build target audiences
    • Ability to build both acquisition and retention campaign strategies
    • Build and execute A/B test to improve channel performance

    Community Management

    • Always on attitude of monitoring our social channels (currently – Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, twitter and linked in) to respond to customer inquiries, request and customer service questions
    • Build brand credibility by responding to and reacting to the community and all requests
    • Demonstrate the brand transparency in action with the handling of repairs, etc.
    • Manage each channel to the agreed upon social strategy, varying the content and conversations in each

    Topical Engagement

    • Be on the look-out for brand appropriate content with the mindset to chime in/ engage with it as a way to broaden the brands voice in social channels
    • Build conversation with other social influencers and media in the space

    Analytics and Reporting

    • Weekly social media report distribution to the internal team
    • Collaborate with team to determine KPIs
    • Build the report framework
    • Gather context and send weekly
    • Analyze channel sentiment 


    • Work in lockstep with Content Manager and Creative to develop detailed briefs

    • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations or related field
    • At least 5 years of social media experience with an emphasis in paid social distribution, outdoor and retail related is a plus
    • Strong PC and Mac computer skills.
    • Strong copywriting skills.

    • Travel required

    • Able to reach overhead
