    Collections Analyst

     

    The Collections Analyst will report to the Controller and manage delinquency and debt collection. They will develop and improve processes and procedures to advance the accounts receivable function at Filson and will partner cross-functionally to communicate these policies and develop relationships with key stakeholders. Lastly, they will help develop and track metrics and actively work to improve those metrics over time.

    While the ideal candidate should possess a courteous and professional demeanor with customers, they will also need to remain assertive and confident. The candidate should be organized, flexible, analytical and resilient when trying to resolve collection matters. 

    Responsibilities

     

    • Manage multiple accounts for delinquency and debt collection efforts
    • Communicate with vendors about outstanding obligations
    • Send out past due notices for delinquent accounts or for missed payments
    • Investigate and resolve complaints regarding incorrect debt collection attempts
    • Report address changes and maintain files regarding debtors for correct and current contact information
    • Compile reports on delinquent accounts and report missed payments to management
    • Serve as backup to Credit Analyst functions as needed
    • All other duties as assigned


    Qualifications

     

    • 3 years industry experience in similar role
    • Bachelor degree in Accounting or related field preferred
    • Knowledge of Dynamics AX a plus
    • Financial statement analysis a plus
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to respond tactfully to sensitive inquiries or complaints and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
    • Strong negotiating and organization skills.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Outlook and Word.
    • Advanced Excel Skills to include knowledge of lookups & pivot tables.
    • Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks; good time-management, organizational, problem-prevention and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work accurately with close attention to detail.
    • Willingness to adapt to changing business needs and deadlines.
    • Ability to study and apply new information, to think and act innovatively and creatively.

    • Able to sit and work at desk and operate a computer for several hours at a time.

    • Reach up, across, or down to retrieve products and supplies
    • Occasionally required to move or lift up to 20 pounds
