Retail Merchandiser

Responsible for driving Retail sales through product merchandising and analysis for all retail product categories.


  • Work closely with Merchandising, Visual Merchandising, and Retail Operations to develop Merchandising strategies for Filson retail stores and analyze performance
  • Analyze retail sales and trends, identifying opportunities to improve and enhance store merchandising to meet and exceed year over year business goals 
  • Partner with Merchandising, Visual Merchandising, and Planning teams to create monthly retail floorsets that support a cohesive Omni channel approach between Retail, Ecommerce, and Catalog
  • Partner with Merchandising and Planning teams to review product allocation by store, determining optimal product placement and customizing regional assortments to increase sales
  • Partner with Visual Merchandising, Creative, and Marketing to discuss visual opportunities to enhance sales such as signage and display of new product introductions
  • Compile actionable feedback from stores and customers on what is / is not working for retail stores and present to internal teams and leadership
  • Present seasonal products to store teams, discussing product purpose, Merchandising initiatives, outfits, and selling techniques
  • Collaborate with Merchandising, Visual, Retail Operations, and Planning on execution of new store Merchandising strategies, assortments, and assist Visual Merchandising with new store opening set up


  • 3-5 years of relevant experience required
  • BA/BS required
  • Strong ability to communicate via documentation 
  • Demonstrated experience driving successful in-store merchandising strategies. 
  • Ability to see the big picture from a Brand perspective and balance financial goals with Brand Marketing/Editorial
  • Ability to define merchandising strategies and execute implementation.
  • Analytical and Creative. Equally at ease developing creative concepts and stories as well as digging into financial data to uncover new opportunities 
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and in a fast-paced environment. Able to adeptly flex with changing priorities
  • Strong sense of urgency, time management and extreme attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams. 
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while effectively meeting deadlines
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
