HR Generalist

 

Filson is enjoying a sustained period of growth and reinvention, and we are looking for a self-motivated and collaborative HR Generalist with the ability to operate in a highly dynamic environment. The HR Generalist is responsible for providing administrative services with an emphasis on benefit administration, leaves of absences, recruiting support, and onboarding. The HR Generalist is part of a small, but talented HR team reporting to the Human Resources Manager. This fast-paced role demands someone that thrives in quickly changing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Administers company-wide employee health, welfare and retirement plans. Benefit programs include: 401(k) Retirement Plan, medical/dental, Flexible Spending (Section 125), Uniform Program, etc.
  • Acts as liaison between employee insurance providers to resolve benefit related problems and ensure effective utilization of plans and positive employee relations.
  • Provides administrative support to human resources function as needed, e.g., correspondence generation, record keeping, file maintenance, HRIS entry.
  • Administers plans in accordance with federal and state regulations and plan provisions are followed.
  • Regularly runs various reports to keep department stakeholders up to date on department trends and changes, i.e., company headcount, turnover, benefits, performance reviews, etc.
  • Provide customer service to our employees in delivering guidance related to HR policies and programs.
  • Support HR team with recruitment, annual performance reviews and various administrative projects.
  • Ad hoc projects and reports as needed.

Qualifications

 

  • 2 years of HR support related administration experience in a high functioning fast paced HR department
  • Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local legal requirements in Washington (multi state preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential material
  • Service mindset, detail oriented, proactive and good prioritization skills
  • Service oriented, willing and pleasant demeanor
  • Time management skills
  • Able to lift 35 pounds
