Visual Merchandiser

The Visual Merchandiser is responsible with helping develop a great first impression every day at the Filson’s Seattle Flagship. Implementing and maintaining visual displays/merchandising to ensure maximized store business. The VM works with the Store Manager and Retail Operations Management team to maximize sales. They coach the sales staff, identifying and teaching new talent on visual standards. The VM also works closely with the Visual Merchandising Manager as part of the creative team that develops window, retail merchandising strategies & wholesale concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Work with VMM to develop global brand vision & visual merchandising for new retail stores, preexisting retail stores and wholesale.
  • Develop and execute multiple versions of floor sets, visual presentation standards, and develop best practices in alignment with brand and company standards.
  • Collaborates with Wholesale management for overall visual strategy.
  • Develop & execute mannequin looks, tables, windows and in-store vignettes for monthly retail directives.
  • Execute on product placement, fixture placement and display elements to provide a consistent customer experience.
  • Partner with store management on key visual merchandising decisions that have an impact on store workload and sales.
  • Set and maintain lighting to highlight merchandise and displays, per company standard.
  • Able to identify potential visual merchandising opportunities and provide creative solutions.
  • Attend seasonal merchandising meetings and communicate the visual merchandising vision to all store associates.
  • Evaluate and analyze the success of the merchandising plan with regard to sales, implementing changes as needed.
  • Utilize applicable reporting and tools to manage inventory levels and evaluate merchandising decisions.
  • Assist in sourcing and development of vendor relationships for visual merchandising tools, fixtures & props.
  • Collaborate, prioritize and communicate any floor set changes as directed.
  • Prepare, communicate and educates teams on changes in policies and brand standards.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years’ experience in Visual Merchandising.
  • Multi store experience preferred but not required.
  • Self-motivated and detail oriented.
  • Excellent time management.
  • Experience working in outdoor retailer a plus.
  • Able to travel 20-30% of the time.
  • Able to lift and carry 35 pounds: heavier merchandise with team assist.
