Email Marketing Specialist

Filson is looking for an experienced results-driven Email Marketer to join our team. Filson’s Email Marketer will own the omnichannel email marketing strategy alongside execution, optimization, and analysis of the email program. Filson’s Email Marketer is responsible for driving sales while blending brand and content alongside the product, refined audience targeting, segmentation, and execution tactics to maximize the ability to drive the right traffic to and our stores.


The role interfaces with key team members on a daily basis working cross-functionally with Merchandising, Creative, International and Development to concept, test, analyze and deliver results for Filson.


  • Drive the strategy for the email program to deliver strong engagement and results, through audience segmentation, deliverability, best practices, and data analysis.
  • Define and execute on the email marketing calendar in partnership with site merchandising and seasonality.
  • Develop and implement A/B testing methodologies to continually improve the email programs performance.
  • Execute on email marketing campaigns from concept, product placement, development, to release.
  • Strong analysis on the effectiveness of the campaigns, programs, and channel.
  • Oversee flawless delivery of daily campaigns, troubleshoot issues that arise and implement solutions to mitigate future problems.
  • Implement industry best practices such as segmentation, cadence, list management, deliverability, and analysis.
  • Communicate out results and findings through strong analytical analysis.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with key internal stakeholders and departments.



  • 3-5 years of direct experience leading and executing email marketing programs.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in online analytics (online retail a plus) or equivalent education.
  • Knowledge of MS Excel, Photoshop and HTML.
  • Experience operating an email platform such as Listrak, Bronto, Salesforce, Responsys, WhatCounts, Exact Target, etc.
  • Ability to articulate and champion email marketing best practices and standards.
  • Ability to define opportunities and problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts and make valid conclusions.
  • Highly analytical and able to derive meaning from data through A/B testing and email optimization; ability to translate that data into actionable and profitable marketing plans.
  • Self-starter with proven track record on delivering projects in business-critical times to engage with the consumer while driving sales.
  • Ability to work well in cross-functional teams and prioritize requests from multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
  • Detail oriented with exceptional time management skills.
  • A can-do attitude with a growth marketing mindset, continually testing and looking for opportunities for growth.
  • BA/BS degree required.
