Financial Analyst 

(May Hire as Senior FA depending on experience)

 

The Financial Analyst is an integral part of the Finance/Accounting department at Filson. Primary responsibilities include preparing and analyzing budgets, forecasts and financial summaries. This role will work closely with the finance team to support the preparation of management presentations, analysis, ad hoc reporting and other special projects as needed.

 

This function is a vital resource to both sales and operations teams, helping them make educated business decision through business analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and provide summary of trends in sales, returns, margins and other business drivers in retail, wholesale and direct sales channels.
  • Create and publish dashboard reports to help management monitor the financial health of the business.
  • Perform variance analysis as part of monthly financial statement review process.
  • Partner with cost center managers to monitor performance against budgets, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of variances.
  • Assist in annual budget preparation and recurring forecast projects.
  • Assist in preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages.
  • Utilize financial models and analysis tools to better predict and communicate financial drivers of the organization.
  • Ad-hoc reporting, analysis and special projects as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 2+ years’ experience in a financial planning and analysis related role.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite required.
  • Ability to learn new systems quickly and work with large amounts of complex data.
  • Ability to understand financial models.
  • Sound technical and business problem solving skills.
  • Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized and able to manage multiple deadline driven responsibilities.
  • Work well with cross-functional teams such as sales, development, customer service, inventory, and fulfillment.
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to learn financial systems and apply knowledge to aid in budgeting, forecasting and analysis projects.
  • Data warehouse knowledge experience a plus.
