Warehouse Supervisor

This position is essential to the day-to-day functions of the warehouse to ensure goals are met, if not exceeded.  Responsible for supervising and supporting many facets of operations to include inventory integrity, picking/pulling and shipping. Fills requisitions and orders, while maintaining outbound shipments. Packs, crates, and ships products intra-company and to external customers. May operate forklift and drive a truck and/or vehicle for the purposes of business. 

Responsibilities

Supervision

  • Provide performance feedback to management.
  • Work with management to delegate work to employees in assigned area of responsibility.
  • Ensure all employees are trained to perform job functions.

Picking

  • Work side by side with Admin support on daily priorities
  • Supervise picking staff and report hourly/daily metrics to your team

Shipping

  • Ship materials and products to internal and external customers.
  • Responsible for oversight of proper handling, packaging and safe movement of product.
  • Maintain organization on the outbound dock with maintaining and prioritizing outbound shipments
  • Complete order fulfillment and entry of inventory transactions into the company’s ERP system.
  • Manage logistics, suppliers and develop proficiency with on-site shipping software systems.
  • Assist with transaction history investigations pertaining to discrepancies.
  • Provide accurate shipment documentation and any other transportation related documentation.

Equipment

  • Operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack and other equipment in a professional and safe manner.
  • Responsible for minor maintenance work at company locations.
  • Assist in keeping warehouses clean and organized on a daily basis.
  • Observe and abide by all policy and safety regulations.

Company Support

  • Perform additional responsibilities, as assigned

Qualifications

 

  • 3+ years’ experience supervising employees in a Distribution environment, union environment a plus
  • High School Diploma, equivalent certificate or combination of education and experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Ability to motive and lead a team
  • Must be able to work flexible with hours, during peak/holidays weekend work is required.
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to communicate and understand English

  • Willingness and ability to learn new things
  • Self-motivated
  • Basic math skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and adapt quickly to changing needs of the department

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:

 

  • Regularly stand and walk around for 8 hour shifts.
  • Use hands and fingers to work, use computer, pack and unpack product.
  • Reach up, across, or down to retrieve products and supplies.
  • See, talk, and hear. 
  • Occasionally required to move or lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Carry products throughout facility to workspace.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to view small details within 2 feet to inspect quality of products.
